Dr. Marjorie Lipson receives University Scholar Award

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Marjorie Lipson, Professor in the Department of Education, for receiving the prestigious University Scholar Award. The purpose of the award is to acknowledge those members of the University community who excel in research and other scholarly activities. Dr. Lipson is a well known national and international scholar in the area of literacy. She has published extensively and has a track record for successful grant funding. Dr. Lipson serves as a role model for other scholars throughout the University and is an exemplar of the quality of faculty who are key to President Daniel Fogel's vision for UVM--to become "the premier small research university." Again, please join me in congratulating our colleague. She is only the third professor for the College of Education and Social Services to receive this prestigious award. The other two are Dr. Susan Hasazi and Dr. Robert Nash.
