Congratulations to Dr. Sandi MacLeod

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Sandi MacLeod, Lecturer in the Dept. of Education, who was honored on October 23 with the The Special Recognition for Contributions in Music Education Award. Presented by the Vermont Music Educators Association (VMEA), this award recognizes Dr. MacLeod's significant accomplishments in music education in public and private schools in Vermont, at the University of Vermont, and nationwide. Dr. MacLeod's work has focused on the processes of critique and reflection and music composition with the integration of technology. Dr. MacLeod serves as Coordinator and one of the pioneers of the Vermont MIDI Project, which connects professional composers and musicians with original student compositions, as well as teaches participants how to use technology and notation software to help individuals develop, nurture and share musical creativity. Her collaboration and leadership skills have resulted in the excellence and success of this project.
