Even though as a society we are now more able to discuss and explore the topics of racism, sexism and heterosexism/homophobia, we have found that class and classism still remain hidden and often difficult to discuss. Part of what makes the conversation hard is the lack of language, as well as the complexities of class. If we don’t even know how to talk about it, how can we teach about it?

The goal of this workshop is to become more able to discuss and teach about issues of class. Through experiential activities and dialogue we will explore different methods for discussing the complexities of class.

Learning Objectives:
Better understand the complexities of class
Develop language to talk about class
Experience some methods for raising issues of class
