$1 million grant awarded to CDCI
$1 million US DOE, Universal Design Grant
Awarded to the Center on Disability and Community Inclusion
The Center on Disability and Community Inclusion (CDCI), the Vermont University Center on Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) at the University of Vermont has just been awarded a $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Post Secondary Education (CFDA 84.333A) entitled Supporting Faculty to Teach All Students: A Universal Design Consulting Team Model.
The overall goal of this 3-year project is to develop a system of campus-wide supports and resources for the creation of learning environments and experiences that serve the diverse learning needs of all UVM students including students who experience disabilities. Dr. Susan Edelman (Associate Director of the Center on Disability and Community Inclusion) and Dr. Larry Shelton (Associate Professor, Department Human Development and Family Studies) will serve as Co-Principal Investigators. They will lead an interdisciplinary team of faculty and staff from the Center for Teaching and Learning, ACCESS, and the Academic Support Program.
CDCI will host an overview presentation of this project on October 20th at 4:30 PM.
