Using a strength-based focus, Dr. Okech hopes to inspire women to identify and highlight their strengths and accomplishments in order to effectively face gender, social, economic and culturally based challenges.
A special emphasis will be placed on celebrating oneself and how that can serve as an indicator to others on how one perceives oneself and how one deserves and expects to be treated.
Finding the woman within is essentially a focused conversation on the fact that the journey for being successful, healthy, and happy has to start within oneself.
Dr. Okech is Assistant Professor and coordinator of the Mental Health Counseling track in the graduate counseling program (CESS)]. Dr Okech has extensive experience working with women in clinical and education settings in addressing gender specific concerns.
